Natürlich wissen etablierte Tänzer und Caller, dass es bei wheel and deal zwei Ausgangsformationen gibt. Hier nur der Hinweis, dass Sie nicht beide Möglichkeiten zusammen lehren sollten, sondern in einigem Abstand; am besten erst am nächsten Kursabend.

Ausgangsformation 1: two faced line
Jedes Paar dreht als eine Einheit eine halbe Umdrehung (180°) zur Mitte der Formation ein, wobei der innere Tänzer den Drehpunkt bildet. Die Paare stehen sich danach gegenüber.

wheel and deal stellt aus dieser Ausgangsformation keine besonderen Schwierigkeiten an die Tänzer. Erst wenn sie später die Figur ferris wheel gelernt haben, "vergessen" sie die Ausführung aus dieser Formation, bzw. verwechseln sie damit.

Merke: wheel and deal mit veer left (right) aus dieser Ausgangsformation kombiniert, ist ein equivalent zu couples trade, das ich in den voran stehenden Lektionen gar nicht erklärt habe. Grund: bei couples trade braucht man mehr Platz und die Gefahr einer Kollision ist größer, da man als Paar "vorwärts" aneinander vorbeigeht. Bei wheel and deal and veer left hat man mehr Ellbogenfreiheit und man weicht seitlich aus. Das Ergebnis ist gleich. Wenn es nach mir ginge, würde couples trade ganz aus Mainstream verschwinden; ich finde es unbequem zu tanzen.

Wenn Sie wheel and deal aus tidal two faced lines callen, müssen Sie darauf achten, dass jede two faced line für sich steht und die Paare zueinander zu einer line of four drehen.
